  Royal College of Organists
  - Simon Williams read music at Durham University, where he was organ scholar of St Chad’s College and conductor of the University Chamber Choir. A post-graduate year followed at the Royal College of Music, during which he studied organ, piano and conducting, and gained the Fellowship Diploma of the Royal College of Organists.
    
    Simon leads and busy and varied musical life. As Director, RCO Academy, he heads the Royal College of Organists’ education programme, designed to recruit, train and support organists and choral directors of all ages and levels of attainment.
    
    As Organist/Director of Music at St George’s Church, Hanover Square, he has broadcast frequently with the church’s professional choir on both BBC Radios 3 and 4 and works closely with the London Handel Festival, conducting a highly popular annual performance of Messiah in December. He oversaw the installation of a landmark new organ by the American builders Richards, Fowkes & Co completed at the beginning of October 2012.
    
    Simon also teaches for the RCO Academy Organ School and is Music Director of Harrow Choral Society with whom he has performed many of the major works of the choral repertoire and commissioned several new pieces. He still finds time to give recitals in cathedrals, churches and concert halls in the UK and abroad. He was President of Enfield & District Organists’ Association from 2007-2011.

  - A copy of the music to be played should be available for the adjudicator before performing, which must be neatly presented and of good quality. (see rule no. 14).
  - Time limits must be strictly adhered to (see rule no. 6)

Either organ may be used in any class, at the player's discretion.

The Chapel Organs St. Augustine’s Chapel, with its warm and generous acoustics, houses two organs. The main three manual
instrument is a vintage, late (1895) ‘Father’ Willis, recently restored to its original condition. It has three non-adjustable pistons to each division, no ‘general’ pistons and responsive pneumatic action. The choir division is enclosed.

The second instrument is a remarkable two manual electronic organ, faithfully reproducing the sounds of its Dutch original. It has no aids to registration, a radiating and concave pedal board, upward facing speakers (where pipes would normally be) and a swell pedal controlling the second division. It has simulated tracker action and is especially suitable for Baroque music.
